Pepsi Treats: A 105 sqm Inflatable Stunt at MBK Center

Pepsi had two new Treats flavours to launch — Dubai Chocolate and Strawberries ‘N’ Cream — and a problem every launch shares: nobody searches for a flavour they have never heard of. The answer was a 7m × 15m inflatable installation at MBK Center that was physically impossible to walk past, generating an estimated 15 million+ impressions in a month. This ooh advertising stunt bangkok shoppers walked past shows how a physical install can feed social content.

The brief

Two new flavours, one month, and a need for immediate mass awareness in Bangkok’s busiest retail district.

A conventional billboard would have announced the flavours. The brief called for something people would stop, photograph and post — converting paid placement into earned reach.

What we ran

  • MediaInflatable brand installation + static billboard
  • Scale7m × 15m inflatable (105 sqm)
  • LocationMBK Center, Pathumwan, Bangkok
  • ExtensionO2O activation with KOL content creation
  • FlightOne month
  • DeliveryFull-service execution by MotionReach + Brandstorm

The pack characters for both flavours were built as a giant inflatable installation on the MBK Center facade, supported by a static billboard carrying the product message.

Scale did the work outdoors; KOL content did the work online. The installation was designed from the start as something worth filming, so the audience distributed it further than the media plan could reach on its own.

The results

An estimated 15 million+ impressions across the month — the largest single campaign figure in this collection, driven by location density plus organic sharing.

This is an estimate, not a verified count. Physical installations have no playback log; the figure combines site traffic data with the social extension, and we label it as estimated for that reason.

Installations like this work alongside MotionReach’s moving formats: a fixed stunt draws the crowd, while out of home advertising on vehicles and taxi advertising carry the message across the city. Screen formats such as digital out of home advertising add verified playback data that a physical build cannot. The same brand’s street-level approach is in the tuk tuk advertising bangkok case study.

Why it workedScale earns the photograph, and the photograph earns the reach. Building the installation to be filmed made the paid placement the smaller half of the result.

Planning something similar? We will build the route, fleet and daypart plan around your objective — and report every impression at screen level.

Impression figures for digital-screen campaigns are verified at screen level from GPS and playback data. Figures for vehicle-wrap and physical installation campaigns are estimated and labelled as such — those formats produce no playback log.
